PRIM POP Named "Best of the East Bay"
Posted on 11 August 2016
I want to extend my deepest gratitude for being included in Diablo Magazine's annual "Best of the East Bay" issue. PRIM POP was recognized as the best new kids' shop for trendy threads. Reflecting on the venture into children's apparel and accessories is humbling—especially considering it all started from a toy kitchen in the back of PRIM.
I had customers telling me their children would beg to stop in PRIM, just so they could visit that play area I set-up to keep them preoccupied and parents free to shop. They would even ask me if PRIM carried clothing in their sizes. Indeed, it had been a dream of mine to have a bigger place for them to make believe and play dress-up, so when the space became available just a couple doors down, we jumped on it.
“With seemingly every department store now selling a cobranded line of Carter’s clothing, it is getting harder to help kiddos develop their own sense of style," writes Diablo contributor LeeAnne Jones. "So we’re thanking our screen-printed stars for recently opened Prim Pop in downtown Pleasanton. An offshoot of women’s boutique Prim two doors down on Main Street, Prim Pop caters to newborns through 12-year-old and offers seriously trendy threads.”
To me, kiddos are wild and carefree; they love bubbles and lollipops. I played around with the name PRIM Littles, but PRIM POP offered the perfect spin-off for the dreamy children’s destination we’ve created. POP has a cleaner, more organic vibe, yet still has the bohemian vintage feel that people have come to know PRIM for. I am always on the hunt for unique children’s lines that have pieces you can’t find anywhere else. Some of our beloved brands include Lulu + Roo, Rylee + Cru, Sweet N Swag, and aden + anais.
