How To Pamper Yourself This Valentine's Day

Ladies, let’s get real: Valentine’s Day can bring up a lot of funky stuff, whether you’re coupled or singled up. As women, we tend to have a lot of expectations around the romantic holiday—how we hope it will go, who our date will be, how special he (or she) will make it, what we wear (allow us to help you in that department!), and the list goes on and on.

But for a second, let’s take the focus off of this illusory perfect date, and bring our attention where it belongs: on YOU. Since we can never have enough self-care, we’re treating you to a night of pampering to get you ready for your Valentine’s—or GALentine’s—Day plans! Join us tomorrow night at both PRIM locations for a night of DIY face masks and cocktails (duh). And while we’re on the subject of “getting real,” here’s a breakdown of the all-natural face masks we’ll be offering—so you can give yourself some love long after V-Day.

1. Clear Skin Face Mask: Honey is naturally antibacterial and full of antioxidants, making it an excellent acne treatment. The lemon also assists in treating acne scars, as well as dark spots and dark circles.

Ingredients: 
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp honey

Directions: Mix ingredients together, spread on clean skin and leave for 10-15 minutes. Remove with water.

2. Glowing Skin Face Mask: Pull out excess impurities that are laying on and under the skin's surface. Deep clean your face, get rid of oil, impurities, and dead skin cells from your skin for clear glowing skin.

Ingredients: 
2 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp yogurt

Directions: Mix ingredients together, spread on clean skin and leave for 10-15 minutes. Remove with water.

3. Skin-Firming Face Mask: Face masks help to instantly refresh and brighten your skin. Treat your skin with a rejuvenating, skin-firming mask once a week.

Ingredients:
2 tbsp coffee grounds
2 tbsp honey

Directions: Mix ingredients together, spread on clean skin and leave for 10-15 minutes. Remove with water.

4. DIY Coconut Oil & Honey Face Mask

Ingredients:
2 tsp coconut oil
1 1/2 tsp honey
1-2 drops lavender essential oil (optional)

Directions: Mix ingredients together. If mixture is too runny, place in the fridge for 5-10 minutes to firm slightly. Apply mask across clean skin in circular motions. Leave on for 10-15 minutes, then remove with warm washcloth.

5. Coffee Scrub Mask: You can use this exfoliating mask 2-3 times a week for soft, glowing skin!

Ingredients:
1/2 tsp coconut oil
1/2 tsp finely ground coffee beans

Directions: Mix coconut oil and coffee grounds together. Apply to your face using circular motions - avoid getting in mouth and eyes. Leave on for 15 mins to an hour, rinse with water for glowing skin.

6. Oily Skin Mask: Great for absorbing excess oil and helping to fight acne breakouts!

Ingredients: 
1 Tbsp Coconut Oil
1 Tbsp Turmeric

Directions: Heat coconut oil in microwave for 5-10 seconds, just to liquefy. Add in turmeric and whip mixture with fork until it is a vibrant yellow hue. Apply to skin and leave for 10 minutes, rinse with water. You may notice a slight tingling sensation.
